Candidate vs. Member: What’s the Difference?
Beta Alpha Psi offers two levels of involvement—Candidate and Member—based on a student’s academic progress.
Beta Alpha Psi Candidates
Candidates are students working toward full membership.
Eligibility highlights:
Declared (or intending to declare) a concentration in accounting, finance, business technology, or analytics
Enrolled as a degree-seeking student at UF
Have at least one academic year remaining before graduation
Completed at least one upper-level major course
Meet academic standards (typically a 3.0+ GPA or equivalent criteria)
What Candidates do:
Attend professional, social, and service events
Network with firms, alumni, and members
Complete requirements leading to induction
Candidates may remain in candidacy for up to one semester after completing major coursework.
Beta Alpha Psi Members
Members have met all requirements and are officially inducted.
Members receive:
Full membership in an international honor society
Eligibility for leadership positions
Lifetime recognition after induction
